Understanding a Stroke

Risk factors for a stroke
There are two types of risk factors; Controllable and Uncontrollable. Age and race are factors that are uncontrollable.
Diet and exercise are controllable factors and are habits or behaviors people choose to engage in. If some of these habits are changed, they can directly affect some medical risk factors by improving them.
Ways to reduce the risk of a stroke
– See a doctor regularly if your heartbeat is irregular or you experience any heart issues
– Eat a healthy diet
– Stop smoking
– Exercise regularly
– Limit alcohol consumption
– Keep your blood pressure and cholesterol in check.
